Congratulations to our Nursing Team
A massive congratulations to our Research Nurses, Érin, Marian and Kirsten, on completing the Queen’s University course Delivering Clinical Trials: From Protocol to Patient.
Developed by experienced clinical trial leaders across commercial and non-commercial research, the course aims to strengthen clinical research capability across Northern Ireland.
The three-month course combined face-to-face learning, group work, presentations, practical laboratory skills, a consenting workshop and assessment. Through real clinical trial case studies, our nurses were able to put theory into practice by developing a Schedule of Events, creating a Case Report Form and working through the actions required in response to Adverse Events.
One of its greatest strengths was the opportunity to learn alongside professionals from diverse backgrounds and specialties, providing different perspectives and broadening an understanding of research processes and procedures.
Our research nurses found the experience hugely valuable and are putting their knowledge and skills into practice, both in their interactions with participants and in the important work behind the scenes.
Although there was no formal graduation, the PCRNI team had our own celebration, complete with personalised cupcakes from Dougies Goodies!
If you’re interested in the course, you can find further information and apply via the link below. Applications are now open for the January 2027 intake.
